I bought a lot more books this year than I thought I did.
I get most of my books from the library, but occasionally there's a book on my TBR that the library just doesn't have. Most of these, with a few exceptions, are Christian books or books by independent authors/publishers.
In all, I purchased ten books this year, not counting the books I purchased as gifts for others (which I think was about two in total).
All titles are linked to Goodreads.

Glad I Bought? Yes!
Hot Mess to Hot Mom: Transformational Tools for Thriving After Childbirth and Beyond, by Tara De Leon
Genre: Self Help
Platform Purchased: Amazon (e-book)
When I Bought: March?
Why I Bought: An acquaintance of mine authored one of the chapters in this book, so she asked me to be part of the launch team for it.
Glad I Bought? Yes. When I get around to having kids, I think this will be useful to have!
A Brief Theology of Periods (Yes, Really): An Adventure for the Curious into Bodies, Womanhood, Time, Pain and Purpose–And How to Have a Better Time of the Month, by Rachel Jones
Genre: Christian Living
Platform Purchased: Christianbook.com
When I Bought: April
Why I Bought: My pastor's wife recommended this to me and I thought it sounded really intriguing.
Glad I Bought? Yes!!! This exceeded my expectations and I will probably reread it at some point, so I'm really glad I own it.
Loot, by Tania James
Genre: Historical Fiction
Platform Purchased: Washington Writers Conference
When I Bought: May
Why I Bought: I heard Tania James speak on a panel at the Washington Writers Conference, and her book was available for purchase outside the conference room. I also got to talk with her! The book sounded like something my sister might like.
Glad I Bought? I think there were many other books at the conference that I would have enjoyed more.
Resurrection Hope and the Death of Death, by Mitchell L. Chase
Genre: Biblical Theology
Platform Purchased: Christianbook.com
When I Bought: July
Why I Bought: This was the women's summer self-study book at my church.
Glad I Bought? Meh. Wasn't my favorite. There wasn't even a discussion, which was part of the original appeal to be honest, but after reading it I felt like my experience would have been richer if there had been a discussion.
The Otherworld, by Abbie Emmons
Genre: Romance
Platform Purchased: Amazon
When I Bought: August?
Why I Bought: Abbie Emmons is an independent author, so my library doesn't have her books. I saw the trailers on YouTube and really wanted to read it.
Glad I Bought? Yes, but only because it scratched the itch to read it. I did not enjoy the book and have already given it away.
The Wonderful Land of Affliction: Exploring Adversity Through Allegory, by Barbara Coleman
Genre: Christian Allegory
Platform Purchased: Amazon
When I Bought: September
Why I Bought: This was the October pick for my church book club.
Glad I Bought? Yes. Even though the book itself wasn't my favorite, it still had some merit and I was glad I had read it for the discussion.
The Answer is No, by Fredrik Backman
Genre: Short Story
Platform Purchased: Amazon (e-book)
When I Bought: December
Why I Bought: It was only $2! And I own almost every single book Fredrik Backman has written, so obviously I had to get this too. And it's only available on Amazon.
Glad I Bought? I've only read the first chapter, since I literally bought this yesterday, but based on those two sentences, yes!
