I am excited to be linking up with The Sunday Salon, hosted by Deb Nance at Readerbuzz, for the first time! I already know that I can't consistently post twice a week, but I'm hopeful that maybe I can do this on the last Sunday of every month. 😊
January News
1. I got a car! Up until January 5, I had a 2010 Honda Accord that was having engine issues (I even broke down on the highway once), so my husband and I bought a 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan and I have been loving it! She even has a CD player, although it's in the glove box for some reason, so I can't change CDs while I'm driving anymore.
2. Speaking of CDs, I've been obsessed with the progressive metal band Dream Theater for the past three-ish months. Since my husband and I swapped cars while my old one was being unreliable (his work is closer to our home than mine), all I was listening to was the Dream Theater CDs that he had in his car, and now I can't shut up about how much I love them.
3. I'm looking into changing jobs. There is a possibility that I will stay with my current job for another year, but transition into a more admin-focused role as opposed to a marketing-focused role, so I'm excited about that.
Just Finished Reading
I finished The Distance Between Us by Kasie West on Tuesday and The Magic-Wife, the Mariner, and the Milkmaid by Anna Schollenberger (my sister!) on Thursday.
Currently Reading
I'm currently enjoying Jackie and Me and The House Saphir. Even though I'm dreading the huge snowstorm we're supposed to get clobbered with tomorrow, I'm also kind of looking forward to having a peaceful snow day. Books, games, and hot chocolate are on the menu!

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Goals for 2026

Congratulations on the new car! A job switch sounds like a fun change as well. I hope it works out and you enjoy it. The House Saphir is on my TBR so I'm curious to know what you think. We've had negative temperatures this weekend, and I feel like I'll never be warm again. Although, we didn't get as much snow as predicted. Stay warm and safe!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yes, I'm hopeful that the job switch will end up being a good decision lol. Really enjoying The House Saphir so far, although I'm only about a hundred pages in, but Marissa Meyer is one of my go-to authors, so I'm confident I'll love it. Whew, negative temperatures! It's 19ºF right now where I am, and we have about 4-5 inches of snow already. But we are warm and cozy so far!
DeleteI fixed the link you posted on Sunday Salon, so, hopefully, more will be able to find you. I'm happy you joined us this week at Sunday Salon. It's wonderful to get a new car after having one that is not reliable. I hope you are able to enjoy the snow day and read those books---they both look fascinating.
ReplyDeleteOh, whoops! 🤠Thank you for fixing that! I agree–having a reliable car is such a relief! And I am very much looking forward to reading my books today :)
DeleteYou have me thinking of hot cocoa and reading on this cold day. Congrats on the new car! & I hope the Jackie & Me book is good.
ReplyDeleteIt's the coziest feeling! Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteYay for a new to you car! And, for finding a new band to love. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cindy! You too!
DeleteNo snow here in the UK, but it's been a pretty cold winter! I wonder if we'll get any at all. Hope you enjoy some cosy reading time!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the cold as much, but ice and snow are no fun :/ I just curled up on the couch with some blankets this morning and finished one of the books I was reading–cozy reading time accomplished! :)
DeleteNo snow here. We are in the midst of a heatwave!
ReplyDeleteYay for a new car!
Have a great week!
A heatwave sounds nice 😅 It's currently 10º outside as I write this!
DeleteCongrats on the car! And good luck with the job. I'm looking for a new job too.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Good luck to you too–I hope you're able to find something that's less stressful than your current job!
