Top Ten Tuesday is a tag hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's prompt is "Goals for 2026 (Bookish or not! Share your reading goals, personal goals, etc.)".
I love setting goals in January, and bookish goals are my favorite type of goal to set! Before we get into my goals for 2026, let's see how I did in 2025:
2025 BOOKISH GOALS VS. WHAT I ACTUALLY ACCOMPLISHED
✅ Goal #1: Read at least 50 books. I read a total of 105 books!
✅ Goal #2: Read at least 5 Middle Grade books.
✅ Goal #3: Read at least 12 books from my paper TBR (as opposed to my Goodreads "Want to read" list; I only started using Goodreads last year, so I have quite a long list on paper).
✅ Goal #4: Attend the 2025 Washington Writers Conference and pitch Hunted to at least three literary agents.
❌ Goal #5: (This one might be too ambitious, but ...) Read ALL of the books I didn't get to from 2024 lists (I've already read two, which leaves 25–that's half my entire reading goal for the year!). I managed to read all but two!
❌ Goal #6: Read at least one book for each National Month. I missed June, October, and November.
✅ Goal #7: Participate in the 2025 Cover Lovers Reading Challenge (hosted by Susan at Bloggin' 'bout Books) at Level Two (11-20 books). I got 33 of 50!
✅ Goal #8: Participate in the 2025 Fantasy/Sci-Fi Reading Challenge (hosted by Rachel at Fantasy and Sci-Fi Fanatics).
✅ Goal #9: Participate in the 2025 New Release Challenge (hosted by The Chocolate Lady's Book Review Blog) as a New Release Newbie (1-30 books). I read 15 new releases in 2025!
✅ Goal #10: Read at least one post by another book blogger per week.
BOOKISH GOALS FOR 2026

Goal #2. Read at least one book from my paper TBR (as opposed to my Goodreads TBR) per month.
Goal #3. Read at least one nonfiction book per month.
Goal #4. Read one book for each National Month (e.g. Black History Month, Women's History Month, etc.).
Goal #5. Read 50 books for the 2026 Cover Lovers Reading Challenge hosted by Susan at Bloggin' 'bout Books.
Goal #6. Read at least 12 books for the 2026 New Release Challenge hosted by The Chocolate Lady's Book Review Blog.
Goal #7. Reread at least five books (I've already reread one!).
Goal #8. Write at least three full-length book reviews for my blog (I've already written one!).
Goal #9. Buy at least three books from local indie bookstores (this one shouldn't be too hard 😉).
Goal #10. Read no more than three physical books at a time (audiobooks don't count 😜).

Looks like you did great with last year's goals! I didn't think to check on mine, but I think I did okay... and probably my list from this year looks a lot like last year's, ahaha.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty happy with how I did! I try to set goals I know I can accomplish so I feel good about myself at the end of the year lol. My 2026 goals are pretty similar to last year's, too!
DeleteCongrats on your successes last year and good luck with your goals for this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #TTT
Thank you!
DeleteYou did a wonderful job with your goals last year!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteYou did amazing with your goals last year! I'm just finding out about the Cover Lovers Challenge and it's really calling to me but I've already committed to several other challenges. I'm so tempted though! Good luck with your 2026 goals!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'd highly recommend bookmarking the Cover Lovers Challenge for 2027; it's so much fun!
DeleteIt's amazing how you can find yourself in multiple books at a time, isn't it? Good luck with all your goals!
ReplyDeleteFor sure! Last year I was a serial book-starter; I'd find myself reading up to six books at a time, and I just got overwhelmed and frustrated. So this year I want to be a little more intentional and sit with the books I've already started before picking up more!
DeleteThese are great goals! The Cover Lover Challenge sounds fun, but I’m keeping my challenges to a minimum this year. Your National History Month personal challenge is awesome! Good luck with all of these.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's a ton of fun. I understand cutting back on challenges though. I've been thinking about trying to make the National Month challenge a linkup, but we'll see–maybe next year!
DeleteI am impressed with how well you did with meeting your goals in 2025. Good luck with your challenges this year. I hope you will join us at Sunday Salon! There are lots of wonderful bloggers who visit there each week.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm planning to join the Sunday Salon this weekend :)
DeleteWoot, woot! I'm glad you are participating in the Cover Lovers Reading Challenge again. Good luck with all your challenges and goals.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT (on a Wednesday)!
I'm so excited! I'm coming up with at least one book for all the prompts in advance this year so I have a plan, even if the book I initially came up with isn't what I end up reading for the prompt. Thank you for hosting such a fun challenge!
DeleteGreat job with last year's goals! I'm scared to look back at mine.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Haha relatable!
DeleteI have to agree with you that audiobooks don't count as reading multiple books; they feel so different. I generally read one book at a time, but I'm able to listen to an audiobook on the side without any issue. I'm planning to reread a few books too this year. I hope you achieve all your goals 😊.

They really do feel so different! Plus, I only listen to audiobooks in the car, so that's time I can't spend reading with my eyes anyway. Multitasking at its finest!
