Things Are Changing

I'm sorry for the clickbait-y title, but I really don't know what else to call this post. I just wanted to explain my recent lack of posts and share a little bit of what I see for the future of This Side of Storyland.

First of all, why I haven't posted a single time in October (until now): Quite simply, I've been busy. This year has flown by. It feels like I blinked in January, and we're already over halfway through October. I'm training a new person at work; I'm editing my book, which I hope to self-publish early in 2027; I'm trying to build a following on my writer Instagram; and I'm staying on top of all the regular activities of daily life, like meal planning and grocery shopping and cooking and cleaning and working out and running errands and, of course, reading!

So what does the future hold? My husband and I are looking at buying a house early next year, which means I will have to start working more in the new year, instead of less as I had hoped. So, I will have even less time for all my hobbies and passion projects, including this blog. However, I don't want to give it up entirely! My plan is to continue doing my monthly reading recap posts and to link up with one or two Top Ten Tuesday topics per month. Other than that, I'll throw in posts as I have the time/feel like it.
