Top Ten Tuesday: Spring 2026 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a tag hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader GirlThis week's prompt is "Books on My Spring 2026 To-Read List".

It's time to make another seasonal TBR! I absolutely love planning out what I'm going to read for the next few months.

First, though, how did I do with my Winter TBR?

The Mechanical - Read

Wicked - Read

Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident - Read

Project Hail Mary - Read

The House Saphir - Read

A Tale of Time City - Read

Everything's Coming up Rosie - Read

Nice Racism: How Progressive White People Perpetuate Racial Harm - Read

After the Fall - Not read (on hold from library)

In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex - Read

There are a lot of new releases on my Spring TBR, and since I get most of my books from the library, I'm not sure how many of these I'll actually get to. But it's just fun to make lists!

The backlist titles are in alphabetical order, while the new releases are in order of release date. All covers are linked to Goodreads.

~ BACKLIST BOOKS ~

Bride of the Sea, by Eman Quotah

Genre: Fiction

Release Year: 2021

Why I want to read it: I heard this author speak on a panel at either the 2024 or 2025 Washington Writers Conference (I can't remember which), and her book sounds very relevant and impactful. I plan to read this for Arab American Heritage Month in April.

Things My Son Needs to Know About the World, by Fredrik Backman

Genre: Memoir

Release Year: 2012

Why I want to read it: I believe this is the only Backman book to date that I haven't read. I have to read it!

Uncharmed, by Lucy Jane Wood

Genre: Cozy Fantasy

Release Year: 2025

Why I want to read it: I plan to read this for the Cover Lovers Reading Challenge Prompt "a scene you would like to step into for a day".

With the Fire on High, by Elizabeth Acevedo

Genre: YA Contemporary

Release Year: 2019

Why I want to read it: This has been on my paper TBR for years. It's time to read it!

~ NEW RELEASES ~

Agnes Aubert's Mystical Cat Shelter, by Heather Fawcett

Genre: Cozy Fantasy

Release Date: February 17, 2026

Why I want to read it: Heather Fawcett wrote my beloved Emily Wilde series! I can't wait to give her new book a try!

Hot Chocolate on Thursday, by Michiko Aoyama

Genre: Fiction

Release Date: February 17, 2026 (translation)

Why I want to read it: I found this when I was looking for a title to read for the Cover Lovers Reading Challenge prompt "your favorite food or drink". It looks fun, and the English translation just came out in February, so it will go towards my New Release challenge as well!

The Kingdom of Almonds, by Ariel Kaplan

Genre: Historical Fantasy

Release Date: March 31, 2026

Why I want to read it: I was blown away by the first two books in Ariel Kaplan's The Mirror Realm Cycle. I can't wait for the finale!

Yesteryear, by Caro Claire Burke

Genre: Thriller

Release Date: April 7, 2026

Why I want to read it: I've been casually following the "tradwife" debate (mostly via YouTube videos), and I'm interested to see what Caro Claire Burke has to say about it. I'm currently seventeenth on the waiting list for this book at my library, though, so who knows if I'll be able to read it before spring is over.

Burn the Sea, by Mona Tewari

Genre: Historical Fantasy

Release Date: April 21, 2026

Why I want to read it: I found this title through Bindery Books and it sounds amazing!

Not What We Pictured, by Becca Kinzer

Genre: Romance

Release Date: April 21, 2026

Why I want to read it: It's pretty much a given that I'll read whatever Becca Kinzer puts out there. She is one of the few romance authors I actually like.
