WWW Wednesday: December 10, 2025

My last (and only, until now) WWW Wednesday post was a little over two years ago, so it seems to me it's time for another one!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly tag hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W's stand for:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you'll read next?

All covers are linked to Goodreads!

Currently Reading:

Dinner with King Tut: How Rogue Archeologists are Re-creating the Sights, Sounds, Smells, and Tastes of Lost Civilizations by Sam Kean is my nonfiction read for December. I'm enjoying it so far (all 15%), even though it isn't all about ancient Egypt like I thought (I guess I ignored the second half of the subtitle when I picked it up). I'm also 51% of the way through A Very Merry Matchup by Becca Kinzer, which is giving me all the warm and cozy Christmas feels! Even though it's less than 200 pages, it's taking me a bit because I'm bouncing between reading it on my laptop and phone, and I hate reading on screens. This one is worth it, though! Then there's A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher, which is on the list of books I didn't get to last year–I'm at 26%. And finally, my current audiobook (on CD) is The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles, which is from my paper TBR. I probably won't finish it before the end of the year, though, because my car is having issues, so I'm not driving it as much, and I only listen to my audiobooks in the car.

Recently Finished:

I finished The Measure by Nikki Erlick on Monday. This was December's book for my church's book club. I enjoyed it! Mini review coming at the end of the month in my wrap-up post, so I won't say more here.

Up Next:

I have so many books I want to read before the end of the year! I recently got The Mechanical by Ian Tregillis from the library, which is the last book of the year for the Fantasy and Sci-Fi Reading Challenge, so I definitely need to read that. I also got out Wicked by Gregory Maguire, since I've seen both Wicked movies now and I'm curious about the book, although I've heard it's very different and very graphic in some parts. The last two books from the list I didn't get to last year are The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Adieh and Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi, so I'd really like to finish those too. I just put them on hold at the library yesterday.

Your turn! What are you currently reading? Have you read any of the books I mentioned? I'd love to hear from you in the comments!

  1. I do not think you will like the Wicked book but I am curious to see what you think when you get to it!
