Top Ten Tuesday: Fall 2026 TBR

Happy fall to those of us who live in the Northern Hemisphere! I don't know about you, but I'm ready for cooler temperatures, colorful leaves, and all the pumpkin spice things.

Top Ten Tuesday is a tag hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's prompt is "Books on My Fall 2026 To-Read List."

But before we jump into fall, let's do a quick recap of Summer!

1776 - Read

A Class Apart - Read

Better Than Revenge - Read

Capitana - Read

Cast & Crew - Read

Pirates of Darksea - Not read

Sitting Pretty - Read

Summer at Sunset Acres - Read

The Escape Game - Not read

The Library of Lost and Found - Read

All right, let's move on to the Fall TBR list! This is not an exhaustive list of the books I want to read this season, just the ones I'm most excited about. I have listed them in alphabetical order, and all covers are linked to Goodreads.

A New Lease on Death, by Olivia Blacke

Genre: Cozy Supernatural Mystery

Release Year: 2024

This looks like a perfect read for spooky season! It's about a ghost and a twenty-year-old renter who team up to solve a murder. I know I saw this on somebody's blog, but I can't remember whose (maybe Susan @ Bloggin' 'bout Books?). It also, of course, fits a Cover Lovers Reading Challenge prompt: "someone with painted fingernails or toenails."

Becoming Kin, by Patty Krawec

Genre: Nonfiction

Release Year: 2022

I plan to read this in November for Native American Indian/Alaska Native Heritage Month.

Bridge of Spies: A True Story of the Cold War, by Giles Whittell

Genre: Nonfiction/History

Release Year: 2010

I know very little about the Cold War, and I'm interested in learning more! Maybe this will finally inspire me to get back to the International Spy Museum in D.C.

Flashback, by Shannon Messenger

Genre: Middle Grade Fantasy

Release Year: 2018

I am very slowly working my way through the Keeper of the Lost Cities series and I'm up to Book 7! It's one of the few series I'm actually committed to finishing, so you know it has to be good!

Grim Tidings, by B.K. Borison

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Release Year: 2026

I enjoyed Good Spirits enough to continue with B.K. Borison's Ghosted series as well!

The Dagger and the Flame, by Catherine Doyle

Genre: YA Romantasy

Release Year: 2024

I absolutely loved Catherine Doyle's Middle Grade Storm Keeper series, so I'm very excited to dig into this enemies-to-lovers YA Romantasy series about two rival assassins. (This also fulfills the 2026 Cover Lovers Reading Challenge prompt, "one of the weapons from the board game Clue.")

The Everlasting, by Alix E. Harrow

Genre: Romantasy

Release Year: 2025

I adored Starling House and I've heard really good things about The Everlasting. The blurb sounds kind of like Robin McKinley's The Hero and the Crown, which I loved, so I'm super excited to read this one! I mean, lady knights? Time travel? Sign me up!

Time Travel for Beginners, by Jaclyn Moriarty

Genre: Magical Realism

Release Year: 2026

Speaking of time travel ... I love books about time travel and I love mysterious, slightly magical agencies, so this sounds right up my alley!

Stay for a Spell, by Amy Coombe

Genre: Cozy Fantasy

Release Year: 2026

While I love the idea of cozy fantasy, the reality rarely satisfies me (it's probably one of my most-DNFed genres). However, the blurb for this captured my fancy, so I'm going to try it! It's giving Shrek vibes. Plus, it fulfills the 2026 Cover Lovers Reading Challenge prompt, "somewhere you could happily sit and read all day."

Yumi & the Nightmare Painter, by Brandon Sanderson

Genre: Fantasy

Release Year: 2023

I'm obsessed with this cover. At this point, I don't even need to know what Brandon Sanderson's books are about–I know I'll enjoy them.

Now I'm even more excited about fall, knowing I have all of these fabulous books to look forward to! I just have to finish my summer list first ...
