Welcome back to the Sunday Salon (hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz)! I've been joining the linkup on the last Sunday of every month to share both life news and bookish updates.
All covers are linked to Goodreads.
June News
1. I started a writer/author Instagram account this month! You can find me @karis.dehaven. Mostly I've just been posting silly reels about the writing life, but eventually I intend to use it as a platform to promote my books!
2. One of my dear friends is a theater reviewer, and she happened to have an extra ticket to see Shakespeare's A Tale of Cymbeline, so she asked if I wanted to come along (I did, of course). The production was outdoors and started at 8pm, which meant I got to bed around 11:30 (way past my bedtime), but it was worth it! I loved the experience. The actors were amazing. I knew next to nothing about Cymbeline going in, so I was a little discombobulated at the appearance of the (fake) severed head. Otherwise, though, I greatly enjoyed the show.

| We had to walk up this hill to get to the theater space! (There was a paved path, but it was still a big hill.) |
3. My husband and I went to see Supergirl yesterday. I wasn't expecting to love it, but I also wasn't expecting to be as disturbed as I was by the movie. Although there was very little gore or swearing, I left the theater feeling unsettled. I would give it a 6 out of 10; my husband rated it a 7.8 out of 10.
Just Finished Reading
On Tuesday, I finished the chaotic memoir Dirt by Bill Buford.
Also on Tuesday, I finished Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. (I can't believe it took me so long to read it! What a great book!)
On Friday, I finished Better Than Revenge by Kasie West. So cute! So fun!
Currently Reading
I'm currently reading Shannon Messenger's Nightfall, which is the sixth book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series. I also just started The Library of Lost and Found by Phaedra Patrick and 1776 by David McCullough.
